Enjoy the pictures of Britney Spears out for a workout following her fender bender (May 13).
In light of her recent personal and professional progress, it’s a shame that Britney Spears suffered a setback when she was involved in a fender bender yesterday in LA.
But she didn’t let that stop her from continuing on her road to success. The “Gimme More” singer paid a visit to a Culver City physician to insure that she wasn’t seriously injured in her collision, but then it was back to business as usual.
And on the heels of a successful 2nd appearance on “How I Met Your Mother” it’s clear that the “Piece of Me” mommy is allowing the momentum she’s gained as of late carry her through the stress of the auto accident.
Following the doctor’s appointment, Spears headed over to her usual daily haunt, Bally’s Total Fitness, to blow off some steam and carry on in her body makeover routine. And she looked like she meant business in a black screen printed tank top, yellow shorts, and a pair of fluffy boots. Oh, and don’t forget about her new favorite gold purse!
MADONNA has leaped to the defence of troubled pop star BRITNEY SPEARS, claiming she is struggling to cope with adulthood because she was never given the chance to grow up.
The Material Girl claims living her teens under the full gaze of the world has robbed Spears of a proper childhood.
She says, "I think a lot of it has to do with the fact that she was never allowed to have a childhood. She didn't get to grow up and make mistakes privately and try things out and just be a kid and be innocent.
"She's been watched, judged and been under a microscope since she's been a teenager. It's hard to evolve that way."
The 49-year-old mother-of-three is determined to keep her own kids on the right path - even if she was somehwat of a wild child: "I just remind them about all the things that they have, and that if I didn't do what I did they wouldn't have those things."
And she's convinced her kids have no interest in becoming as famous as mum or Spears: "They're sort of over it. They like to skateboard around (but) they get to travel a lot, they get to do a lot of interesting things and meet a lot of interesting people."
BRITNEY SPEARS is being tipped for a regular spot on sitcom HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER, by one of its stars ALYSON HANNIGAN
Rumours have circulated the show's bosses are considering Spears' for a permanent turn on the show after ratings soared when she returned for a second stint, playing ditzy receptionist Abby on Monday (12May08) evening's episode.
Hannigan, who worked with Spears on set, is keen for her to come back full time.
She says, "She's fantastic and just a really, really sweet girl."
And the actress describes the media circus surrounding Spears' presence: "Well the first episode was a big hoopla. A helicopter followed her into work and people were taking pictures of her off the parking structure. It was pretty crazy. But the second time they moved her trailer to a more isolated location and the paparazzi sort of left her alone I guess. Is the top of her head is it really that interesting?"
SIMPSON LEFT RED-FACED AFTER CALLING SPEARS `TRASHY'
Written by BabyBrit On May 15, 2008, 12:10 am
ASHLEE SIMPSON was left more than a little embarrassed when she inadvertently called pop peer BRITNEY SPEARS trashy in a recent radio interview.
Quizzed about her knowledge on London rhyming slang during a recent visit to the U.K., Simpson was asked what she thought the phrase, "You've had one-too-many Britney Spears" meant.
Unaware the term referred to someone who had drunk too much beer, Simpson offered her take on the phrase and immediately wished she had kept her mouth shut.
Speaking on British music show The Nokia Green Room, she recalled, "I was like, 'Oh, you've had one too many trashy girls!' And I was like, 'Oh my god, I can't believe I just said that!
"It was really bad, I felt horrible."
BRITNEY SPEARS' second appearance on U.S. sitcom HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER has further impressed the show's producers, who think her performance as ditzy receptionist ABBY was even better than her debut..
The show's bosses now want Spears to consider a regular role on the sitcom, which enjoyed its best viewing figures ever when Spears first appeared in March (08).
Sources claim Spears is very popular with the cast and crew on the show.
Co-creator Craig Thomas says, "She was better than the first time.
"(Viewers have seen) that the door is still open for her to come back."
Spears' second stint on the hit comedy aired in America on Monday night (12May08).
Britney Spears was involved in a minor car accident Tuesday afternoon on Sunset Boulevard.
The singer was driving her white Mercedes SL on the strip just after 2 PM local time when she rear-ended a red Ford Explorer, X17 Online reported.
According to X17 Online, neither party was hurt in the crash.
Britney reportedly suffered some damage to the front of her luxury vehicle.
The pop star stayed in the car following the incident, while her bodyguard, who had been riding in the car’s passenger seat, appeared to exchange information with the other driver, the Web site reported.
Following the incident, Spears returned to her home in The Summit.

With the discipline of a Tibetan Monk, Britney Spears returned to the gym for yet another day of busting her buns and working out.
The “Piece of Me” singer was spotted leaving the Culver City, California Bally’s Total Fitness facility, accompanied by her bodyguards. And she’s looking better than ever.
Keeping up the usual regimen, Brit followed her daily workout with a daily trip to the recording studio to continue work on her new comeback album.
And speaking of comebacks, after last night’s stellar performance on “How I Met Your Mother,” the show’s co-creator told press that the “Gimme More” singer could quite possibly have a third go at the show.
“She was better than the first time, and I think the fans will enjoy it because her return answers a larger mystery set up earlier in the series. So there’s a good plot reason why she’s there. And when people watch Britney’s second appearance on the show they’ll see that the door is still open for her to come back.”

Enjoy the pictures of Britney Spears out to eat at Sur (May 8).
Following a business meeting at the trendy West Hollywood restaurant Sur, Britney Spears made her way to her car through a sea of paparazzi and fans.
It seems the “Gimme More” singer is hot on the trail of a comeback, with constant trips to the gym and regular sessions in the recording studio. So it only makes sense that she’d be in the midst of talks with industry execs to give her career a boost.
Then last night, Miss Spears stopped by a taping of “Rock the Cradle,” a show that pits aspiring pop stars, who have rock and roll in their family background, against one another. The offspring of Dee Snider, Kenny Loggins, and Olivia Newton John were all competing.
But most importantly, Brit’s former manager/friend Larry Rudolph is the show’s judge, and he told press that he was honored to have the support of the “Toxic” singer.
Rudolph told press, “She was here to support the show. I mentioned to her that I was going to my show. She said, ‘I want to come down.’ She loved it. She really loved it. She didn’t come here for publicity or anything like that. She came here because she wanted to see the show, which I appreciated.”

They say the difference between success and failure is perseverance. And if that’s the case then Britney Spears may just have the comeback of the century on her hands.
The “Piece of Me” songstress was spotted faithfully keeping up her workout schedule at Bally Total Fitness in Culver City yesterday - looking to be in high spirits.
Earlier this week, Miss Spears was awarded extended visits visits with her sons, 2-year-old Sean Preston and 1-year-old Jayden James, in “recognition of the progress that has been made, a progress of structure and stability.”
Later that night, the “Toxic” singer was seen making her way to a recording studio on St. Andrew’s lane in Hollywood. She was dressed like quite the rocker as she smoked a cigarette and sipped a beverage.
BRITNEY SPEARS is set to go head-to-head with WHITNEY HOUSTON in a chart battle later this year (08) - when both stars release their forthcoming albums in the run-up to Christmas.
Houston has reportedly been working on her seventh studio album since 2003, and has even called on R+B star John Legend and producer/rapper Will.I.Am to help her comeback record climb to the top of the charts.
But the 44-year-old's chance at a dazzling return may be thwarted by the Toxic hitmaker, who is also set to release a new album this December (08).
According to reports, bosses at 26-year-old Spears' record label are so impressed with her new demo tracks, they want her to rush out a finished LP this winter.
A label source tells Britain's The Sun newspaper, "Britney has been on fire in the studio of late¡ she is determined to make a triumphant comeback."
Both singers have been surrounded by controversy in recent years, with Houston battling drug addiction and going through messy divorce with singer Bobby Brown, and Spears visiting rehab and fighting a bitter custody battle with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
BRITNEY SPEARS surprised the contestants of new MTV reality show ROCK THE CRADLE by turning up for the season finale - in support of her manager LARRY RUDOLPH.
Rudolph is a judge on the hit programme, which sees aspiring pop stars, who have musician parents, compete for their own place in the spotlight.
And Spears - who shot to fame under Rudolph's management - paid an impromptu visit to the Los Angeles set on Thursday (08May08) to wish her former mentor well, watching the live show from backstage.
Rudolph tells Usmagazine.com, "She was here to support the show. I mentioned to her that I was going to my show. She said, 'I want to come down.' She loved it. She really loved it.
"She didn't come here for publicity or anything like that. She came here because she wanted to see the show, which I appreciated."
Singer BRITNEY SPEARS has apparently turned to British rockers RADIOHEAD in a bid to overcome her personal troubles.
The Toxic hitmaker was photographed leaving Bally Total Fitness gym in Los Angeles on Wednesday (07May08) holding a copy of the band's latest LP In Rainbows.
According to her fellow gym-goers, the 26-year-old appeared to be in "good spirits" following her work-out.
Earlier this week (06May08), an L.A. judge granted Spears more access to her two children - Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, one - in the latest court battle for child custody with ex-husband Kevin Federline.
